 he show, set in San Francisco, centres around the work of the
Legacy team which includes charismatic university professor Dr. Derek Rayne
(Derek de Lint), the Precept
of the house with degrees in both theology and anthropology, Nick Boyle
(Martin Cummins), an ex-Navy SEAL, Alex Moreau (Robbi Chong),
a psychic and the House's chief researcher, Father Philip Callaghan
(Patrick Fitzgerald), a priest with some inner conflicts,
and Dr Rachel Corrigan (Helen Shaver), a psychologist who approaches the
paranormal with an eye to scientific explanation.

RACHEL CORRIGAN, MD is a beautiful and intelligent medical examiner
who errs on the side of medical science rather than the supernatural.
Her beliefs were initially put to the test when she ex-perienced the horror
of her daughter's possession by demons from the Fifth Sepulchre in the Pilot show.

NICK BOYLE
is ex Navy SEAL. He is the tough guy of the group.
His father was a colleague of Derek's, and he now continues in his footsteps,
fighting off evil. Another skeptic, Boyle would sooner make use of his fists
than his mind. and this adventurous spirit does not always serve him well.
He has locked horns with Derek more than once regarding his leadership style.

ALEXANDRA MOREAU was brilliant young student of anthropology was discovered by
Derek Rayne whilst he was a lecturer at
her college. Her natural psychic abilities were encouraged by her grandmother,
a practicing Creole occultist. Alex is frequently called upon to perform research
for the group, and as a young black woman is often used to highlight issues
of sex and race. |

FATHER PHILIP CALLAHAN is irish priest, who serves as the spiritual
guide for the group. His formative years as a youth in Belfast toughened him up,
preparing him for the battles with demons. He boasts a wide knowledge of
religions and ancient languages, as well as a keen insight into the human psyche.

KAT CORRIGAN
is daughter of dr. Rachel Corrigan. Kat is
psychically gifted, and has been the focus of many episodes
which use her abilities as a linch-pin. At only
eight years of age she is not able to join
The Legacy yet, but Derek Rayne trusts
that when she is of age she will make
the right decision to join the team.
